Instagram and Facebook comments to CSV with n8n
Import a manual FetchFox workflow for one public Instagram or Facebook post. Each starter requests up to 20 comments, checks the response and creates a downloadable CSV file.
Choose a starter
Each workflow makes one extraction request and has no schedule, pagination loop or automatic retries. A successful run costs one credit, including a verified empty result. Failed processing uses no credits. No account credentials are included.
Configure and run manually
These JSON workflows use standard n8n nodes, not a native FetchFox integration. Their configuration and embedded code are checked with fixtures; import and execution in your n8n installation still need verification.
- Import the downloaded JSON file into n8n and leave the workflow inactive.
- Edit Configure input with one public post URL.
- Create a Header Auth credential with name x-access-key and your FetchFox project key as the value. Select it in Fetch comments; keep the key out of node fields and workflow exports.
- Choose Execute workflow once. Inspect the HTTP status and response if the run stops.
- Download the binary CSV from CSV file. Open it in your spreadsheet and check unknown counts and string IDs.
What the export preserves
The CSV includes source, IDs, text, available author fields, likes, replies and timestamps. Unknown metrics are empty cells and zero remains 0. Numeric IDs and formula-like text get a protective apostrophe. A verified empty collection produces a header-only CSV.
The source may offer another page, but this starter stops after one request. Use the bounded Python exporter when you want deliberate pagination. Check response status and collectionStatus before describing the export as complete.
Watch the recorded-example walkthrough
The short video shows the saved examples, CSV download and guide links. It demonstrates the format without signing into a customer account or running a live extraction. For your own post, sign in and explicitly choose View comments.
